Good Green Fun - Saturday 01/08/2009

On Saturday 1st August in Chapel Allerton St Matthew’s Church we celebrate the environment with a Green Fair.

There’ll be 3 distinct areas for visitors.   A local craft area with such a diversity of goods, locally produced, ethically sourced or using recycled materials.  Just a taster is the artisan who uses silver recycled from film stock and transforms it into beautiful jewellery, then there are ethically produced clothes, handicrafts, and organic beauty products.

In the food and farmer’s market area will be local cheeses, pickles and jams, bread and the vegetables.

And our commercial area is made up of social enterprises, charities and businesses – so there’s advice on greener living from the Energy Saving Trust, St Gemma’s will be there as will the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers and we have information from greener weddings, the battery hen rehoming charity and vegebox suppliers.

All in all we have over 30 organisations represented.

Add to that food from local Chapel Allerton café Nude, a traditional home made cake stall and refreshments.

Drumming for everyone to try their hand at, games for the children and a raffle………

All that for just £1 for adults or .50p for children.

Gates open at 11am and we close at 5pm – if it rains we move into the church but of course we’re praying for good weather.

Come and join us at St Matthew’s Church, Wood Lane, Chapel Allerton, Leeds 7.
