Ate here on a Saturday eve May 2009. Friendly and helpfull service but the food!!! Ever seen Ramseys kitchen nightmares where all the sauces come in plastic pots and looks the same and then gets heated in one of the four microwaves in the kitchen? That is the el bareto kitchen, I stood there and watched for 5 minutes. I have had tapas in Spain and loved it. This is dire and expensive. It was all eatable but I would never ever eat there again. I would score the staff 5 and the food 2. Obviously the Manger / owner does not count for the 5 score!

I love this little place. It's different unique and offers gorgeous authentic (and reasonably priced) tapas. Get yourself a jug of Sangria, kick back and relax!

I thought the food was pretty poor and greasy and the service rushed and impersonal. Viva Cuba in Kirkstall much better

Having been to the Bar on numerous occasions I can categorically state that the food is great, the atmosphere laid back and the service impeccable. It may have helped that my partner is a Spanish speaker, and that we set out to have a great time. As a vegetarian I found the choice quite wide (something that you do not often find in a Spanish establishment) and I would not hesitate to recommend the bar to all.

The food was nice with a good range of choices particularly as a vegetarian - but the manager bloke was incredibly rude when we questioned him about a dish which we had not ordered but which was brought to our table he was totally insistant that we had ordered it - he had no custmer relation skills - he then overcharged us and made jokes as we tried to work out the bill ourselves. The other memebers of staff who were Spanish were all polite and freindly but this guy really let the place down - we will not be visited again it was like a surreal faulty towers experience!!!
