Do you know, from your description an
instant mental picture formed in my
mind - and I can probably guess EXACTLY
who this would have been.

It is open to none diners and was a
quiet and expensive experience. A nice
enough bar. Made almost no impression on
me at all

A member of staff in a bow tie and
waistcoat takes your order and an
overpriced bottle of Italian lager is
brought. This is all too formal. There
is zero atmosphere. The omnipresent TV
screens don't help.
On the last time I visited, a
middle-aged male-female duo were
performing some standards e.g. "My
Girl". The male half had lots of gold
jewellery and 1980s big hair. The female
half wore a beige trousersuit. In front
of them, a small bald man (clearly very
pissed) gyrated in an approximation of
dancing.
On the plus side, you are always
guaranteed a table at Bar Ischia.

Have been for a drink before food at
Casa Mia Grande and it was nice and
relaxing. Made experience last a little
longer which I enjoyed. Not sure if
it's open to non-diners??
